This 500 kW community-scale solar array is located on a former gravel pit owned by the Town of Barre. Green Lantern Solar collaborated with lead developer Novus Energy Development to develop and finance the virtual net-metered project.
The array provides approximately 875 MWh per year to the Town of Barre and the Barre Schools. This project is a great example of how municipalities and private developers can collaborate to develop renewable energy on industrial/brownfield sites with limited development potential.
